Vineyards of Hautes-Cotes de Beaune

Some of the greatest white (Chardonnay) wines on earth  come from the Cotes du Beaune. Wines like Le Montrachet, Bastard-Montrachet, and Corton-Charlemagne to name a few.    This area also produces some great red (Pinot Noir)  wines in Pommard, Monthelie, Volnay, and Santenay.  Like the Cote de Nuits the greatest wine are grown within the narrow strip of land, shown in dark green.
